Savory Puff Pastry Bunnies

The savory puff pastry bunnies are an incredibly easy, quick, delicious, and delightful Easter appetizer. Last year, I made sweet puff pastry bunnies with Nutella, and for this Easter, I decided to make them in a savory version, changing the shape a bit. How delicious! You can prepare the savory puff pastry bunnies in less than 10 minutes with just 3 ingredients. You can fill them with whatever you prefer. I used cooked ham and tuna sauce; they are so good and easy to make that you can even make them with little ones. Moreover, you can prepare them in advance and bake them just before serving!

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Economical
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 9-10 savory puff pastry bunnies
  • Cooking methods: Oven, Electric oven, Air frying
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: Easter

Ingredients

  • 3.5 oz cooked ham
  • 2 tbsps tuna sauce
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (rectangular)

Steps

  • Savory puff pastry bunnies are super easy and quick to prepare. First, unroll the sheet of puff pastry and brush one half with the tuna sauce.

  • Place the slices of cooked ham on top and close the pastry by pressing well. Then, cut strips vertically, about 0.75 inches wide.

  • Take a strip and roll it onto itself, stopping halfway. At this point, fold the remaining part over the roll to create the bunny ears.

  • Place the savory puff pastry bunnies on a baking tray and bake in a preheated oven at 392°F for about 20 minutes.

Notes:

The savory puff pastry bunnies can be stored at room temperature for a few hours or in the fridge for a couple of days. You can fill them with the filling you prefer and even make them sweet.
