Ingredients

  • 8.8 oz smoked salmon
  • 3.5 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 0.2 cup orange juice
  • 0.1 cup lemon juice
  • 1 tsp chives
  • 1 tsp pink pepper
  • to taste black pepper

Steps

  • The citrus marinated smoked salmon is very simple and quick to prepare. First, prepare the marinade by mixing orange juice, lemon juice, and extra virgin olive oil. Then add chopped chives, black pepper, and pink pepper.

  • In a baking dish, create a layer of smoked salmon slices, add some marinade, create another layer of salmon, marinade, more salmon, and pour the remaining marinade over everything.

  • Cover with plastic wrap and let the marinated smoked salmon rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes so it absorbs the flavors well.

  • I served the marinated smoked salmon on a bed of arugula, adding a few orange slices on top and its marinade.

Advice:

The marinated smoked salmon can be stored in the fridge for one day. You can make it in advance, and it will be even tastier. You can also use fresh salmon, filleted and cut into very thin slices, but you must blast freeze it first by freezing at -18/-20 degrees Celsius (-0.4/-4 degrees Fahrenheit) for at least 24 hours. Then let it thaw in the fridge and proceed as per the recipe.
