Chocolate Crunch

in ,

The chocolate and nuts crunch is a super delicious and quick no-bake Christmas dessert. Everyone has surely eaten and/or prepared the classic almond crunch (or with other nuts), I make it every Christmas and this year, I wanted to create a much simpler but equally good version, perhaps even better. The chocolate crunch is a true delight, made with only 3 ingredients (nuts, chocolate, and oil, which is just to make the crunch less hard, a little trick) and it’s perfect for gifting, it’s a Christmas gift idea that everyone will love, it keeps for a long time and is also perfect to put in the Epiphany stocking. I used white chocolate and dark chocolate, but milk chocolate is also fine, you can obviously choose the nuts you prefer (even just one type, I used peeled and unpeeled almonds, hazelnuts, pistachios, and walnuts), it will literally disappear!

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Cheap
  • Rest time: 30 Minutes
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Cooking methods: No-bake
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: Winter

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups nuts of choice
  • 7 oz chocolate
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil

Steps

  • The chocolate and nuts crunch is super easy and fast to prepare, for this recipe you can use the nuts and chocolate you prefer, I used peeled and unpeeled almonds, hazelnuts, pistachios, and walnuts and used half white chocolate and half dark chocolate to create two flavors of crunch.

  • Melt the chocolate in the microwave or in a bain-marie (if you use more types, melt them separately) and add the vegetable oil, mix the two ingredients well, if you use two chocolates, put one teaspoon for each.

  • Add the nuts (if you use two chocolates, put half and half) and mix everything well.

  • Transfer the mixture into a mold lined with plastic wrap (I used two molds, each 4×6 inches), level it well, and let the chocolate and nuts crunch solidify completely, it will take about 30 minutes, depending on the temperature you have at home, I recommend not putting it in the fridge to avoid it getting moist, leave it at room temperature.

  • Once it has solidified, unmold the chocolate and nuts crunch and cut it into pieces with a sharp knife.

Notes:

The chocolate and nuts crunch keeps for up to a month. As already mentioned, you can use the nuts and chocolate you prefer.
