Golden Baked Mushrooms

The golden baked mushrooms are an easy and delicious recipe. I had some champignon mushrooms to use, and I made them breaded, like a cutlet, and baked them in the oven. Simple and delicious, with a breadcrumb coating that doesn’t fall off, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! Golden baked mushrooms are prepared in a few minutes and are very tasty, one leads to another, they are great as an appetizer, side dish, or main course, delicious on their own and perfect to accompany your favorite sauces!

Ingredients

  • 1.1 lbs champignon mushrooms
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/3 cup cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 sprig parsley
  • 1 clove garlic
  • as needed all-purpose flour
  • as needed salt
  • as needed black pepper
  • as needed oregano

Steps

  • Golden baked mushrooms are very simple and quick to prepare. First, clean the mushrooms, remove the root part and dirt, cut them into large pieces, and season with salt and black pepper.

  • Season the breadcrumbs with cornmeal, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, garlic, and oregano.

  • Dip the mushrooms in all-purpose flour, then in beaten eggs, and then in the breadcrumb mixture. Place the golden mushrooms on a baking tray, drizzle with a little extra virgin olive oil, and bake them in a preheated oven at 392°F for about 20 minutes until they are well golden.

Notes:

Golden baked mushrooms can be kept at room temperature for a few hours or in the fridge for 2-3 days. If you don’t want to use cornmeal, you can just use breadcrumbs or finely crushed cornflakes.
