Chickpea flour chips are a healthy, crunchy, and truly irresistible snack! You prepare them with a few ingredients, and they are always ready to be nibbled on at any time of the day.
They are gluten-free and vegan, making them suitable for any diet. They are fat-free, light, fill you up without weighing you down, and are very economical!
One of the main reasons to love chickpea flour chips is that they are rich in plant-based proteins and fiber, ideal for curbing hunger without guilt. Unlike industrial snacks, you know exactly what you’re eating: no preservatives, no strange additives, just simple and genuine ingredients.
The fiber in chickpea flour promotes regular digestion and contributes to the well-being of the intestinal flora. Chickpeas have a medium-low glycemic index, useful for avoiding spikes in blood sugar and sudden energy drops.
Chickpea chips are very versatile; you can enrich them with herbs, paprika, chives, or rosemary.
Perfect as a healthy appetizer, post-workout snack, accompaniment to hummus and dips, or as an alternative to bread.

Steps for Preparing Chickpea Flour Chips
To prepare the delicious chickpea flour chips, take a bowl. Pour in the chickpea flour, water, and salt. Mix with a hand whisk until you obtain a smooth batter without lumps. Let it rest for half an hour, stirring occasionally so the flour does not settle at the bottom.
After the resting time, line a baking tray with parchment paper and spoon the batter to form round chips. Make a thin and even layer. If you want to alternate them as I did, you can dust some with chives.
The thinner they are, the crunchier the chips will be
Avoid build-up at the edges, as they would remain soft.
Bake for 12-15 minutes in a static oven at 392°F, until the surface is dry, opaque, and slightly golden. You can also bake them in an air fryer at 356°F for about 8 minutes.
Remove from the oven and serve either hot or at room temperature, and enjoy from Barbara!
Chickpea Flour Chips Storage
Allow the chickpea chips to cool completely
Storing them while still warm creates condensation, which makes them soft within a few hours. Store them in an airtight container or jar. Avoid soft plastic bags
Air is the main enemy of crunchiness. They last up to 2-3 days.
If they become slightly soft after a day:
put them in the oven at 320°F-338°F for 3-5 minutes
let them cool for a few minutes before serving
