I really like broccoli, it’s a vegetable that I often boil during the cold season and then stir-fry with chili and garlic.

The easy broccoli pesto is delicious, it’s a condiment that is very tasty, perfect for dressing pasta, made with the addition of nuts like pine nuts, almonds, and good extra virgin olive oil.

The pesto is a very tasty condiment that can be prepared with many other ingredients, and in the notes, I’ll leave you other appetizing pasta recipes featuring pesto as a condiment, but now let’s head to the kitchen, shall we???

Ingredients EASY BROCCOLI PESTO RECIPE

  • 10.6 oz broccoli
  • 1.4 oz nuts (I use pine nuts and almonds)
  • 2 tbsp Parmigiano Reggiano (grated)
  • to taste basil
  • to taste Extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste salt and pepper

Preparation EASY BROCCOLI PESTO RECIPE

  • Separate the broccoli florets and wash them under running water.
    Boil them in water for 5/7 minutes.

  • Drain them and to keep the bright green color, put them in a bowl with ice water.

    Drain the broccoli and let them dry on absorbent paper.

  • In a blender, put the boiled broccoli florets, pine nuts, almonds, and blend everything into a smooth sauce.

  • Also add the grated Parmigiano Reggiano and extra virgin olive oil gradually homogenizing the mixture to have a smooth and creamy pesto.

    If you want to use less extra virgin olive oil, add a little water, then adjust the salt and pepper to taste.

  • Here is your easy broccoli pesto ready, perfect for seasoning your long or short pasta or spreading on toasted crostini for tasty bites!

Tips and Notes

If you want an even tastier pesto, add sun-dried tomatoes in oil, anchovies in oil, or another type of nuts like walnuts and/or unsalted pistachios.
