- white wine vinegar (Or apple cider vinegar or balsamic vinegar)
- brown sugar (Or granulated sugar)
- 1 garlic clove
- extra virgin olive oil

Steps for sweet and sour red cabbage
First, clean the red cabbage and cut it into thin strips. Then rinse under cold running water. In a large pan with a wide bottom, pour in plenty of extra virgin olive oil (at least 6 tablespoons) but it depends a lot on the size of the cabbage. Add the garlic clove and the onion, previously cleaned and sliced into rings, and sauté for a few minutes. Add the red cabbage and sauté for a few more minutes, stirring continuously. Add salt and pepper and stir again. Finally, pour in 2 glasses of water, cover with a lid, and cook for 35-40 minutes over medium/low heat until cooked and the water has evaporated from the bottom.
