  • 1 pinch salt
  • 7 tbsps butter (soft)
  • 1/2 cups brown sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3.5 oz white chocolate

Tools you’ll need for matcha tea and white chocolate cookies

  • 1 Sieve
  • 1 Ice cream scoop
  • 1 Baking sheet

Preparation — matcha tea and white chocolate cookies

The preparation of matcha tea and white chocolate cookies is very easy and quick.

  • First of all, keep the butter at room temperature for at least 30 minutes so it softens.

In a bowl, mix the sifted flour and baking soda, the matcha tea and the salt. Mix well to evenly distribute the green color of the matcha.

In another bowl, beat the soft butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar until you obtain a light and fluffy cream.

  • Add the egg and the vanilla and mix until you obtain a homogeneous mixture. Add the dry ingredients little by little and combine them.
Finally, add the coarsely chopped white chocolate and incorporate it.

  • Using an ice cream scoop or a spoon, portion the dough and place the portions on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, well spaced (they will spread during baking).

Bake the matcha tea and white chocolate cookies in a preheated conventional (static) oven at 356°F for about 12-14 minutes, until the edges are golden but the center is still soft. Baking time depends on the size of the cookies.

  • Remove from the oven, let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then carefully transfer them to a rack. To give them an even shape, once out of the oven you can rotate them inside a cookie cutter.

Storage

Store the matcha tea and white chocolate cookies, completely cooled, in a tin box or an airtight container with a tight seal.

Keep them in a cool, dry place, away from heat sources or direct light. Under these conditions they will stay fresh and crisp for 5-6 days.
