The SALAMI AND CHEESE ROLLS are one of those clever, showy appetizers that win everyone over at first glance. Small treasure chests of flavor, perfect for starting a dinner with friends, enhancing a holiday buffet or accompanying a home aperitif. Their beauty lies in their simplicity: they take only a few minutes to prepare, require no cooking, and use genuine ingredients and Mediterranean flavors that pair perfectly.
The base is a mosaic of thin salami slices that wraps a soft, velvety spreadable cheese, enriched with chopped olives that add a salty, aromatic touch. Completing the filling are cubes of sweet-and-sour roasted red pepper, which add color and a fresh note that perfectly balances the salami’s richness.
After a short rest in the refrigerator, the roll becomes compact and very easy to slice: each slice is a perfect spiral, inviting and rich in contrasting textures and flavors. Served on a platter or skewered with small picks, these rolls are always a success.
A quick but impressive idea, ideal when you have last-minute guests or want to bring something tasty to the table without spending hours in the kitchen. Versatile, delicious and beautiful to look at: impossible not to fall in love with them!

Ingredients
- 15 slices Hungarian salami
- 1/2 cup spreadable fresh cheese
- 1 red bell pepper (roasted in sweet-and-sour)
- 15 pitted olives (green or black)
- to taste dried oregano
Tools
- 1 Plastic wrap (cling film)
Steps
Preparing the Salami and Cheese Rolls is child’s play — simple and very quick.
On a sheet of plastic wrap, lay out the salami slices overlapping slightly to form a compact rectangle.
Spread the spreadable cheese over the entire surface, leaving about 3/8 inch (1 cm) free along the long edge. Scatter the surface with pieces of sweet-and-sour roasted peppers, the olives sliced into rounds and a good sprinkling of dried oregano or chives.
Using the plastic wrap to help you, roll gently from the longer side to form a compact cylinder.
Tighten well and seal the ends.Transfer it to the refrigerator and let it rest for at least 3 hours so it firms up perfectly.
After resting, remove it from the plastic wrap and serve sliced into pieces about 3/8 inch (1 cm) thick.
Tips
You can substitute the spreadable cheese with robiola, mascarpone or well-drained ricotta.
Add arugula, walnuts or chopped pickles for fresh, crunchy variations.
Keep refrigerated for 2 days well wrapped.
