Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry (rectangular)
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 egg
- honey
- colored sprinkles
PREPARATION: PUFF PASTRY CINNAMON WREATH
The preparation of the PUFF PASTRY CINNAMON WREATH is very easy and quick. Mix the brown sugar with the ground cinnamon.
Unroll the puff pastry sheet, brush it with the beaten egg and sprinkle it with the sugar-cinnamon mixture. Lightly press with your hand so the filling adheres well, then roll the pastry onto itself forming a tight roll.
Wrap it in paper, tighten the ends and transfer to the freezer for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes, take the puff pastry roll and cut it into slices about 3/8 inch thick.
Place them close together, alternating one laid flat and one standing upright, on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush them with the beaten egg and bake in a preheated convection oven at 356°F for 15–20 minutes.
When the puff pastry cinnamon wreath is nicely golden, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Place it on a plate, brush it with runny honey and decorate with colored sprinkles.
TIPS
You can make the puff pastry cinnamon wreath in advance and freeze it already assembled, or freeze the filled roll and assemble it at the time of baking.
