Ingredients
- 1 roll of pizza dough base
- 6 sausages (cheese-filled)
- 6 slices speck
- to taste extra virgin olive oil
- to taste sesame seeds
- to taste poppy seeds
Tools
- 1 Baking sheet
- Parchment paper
- 1 Brush
- 2 Small bowls
Steps
Preparing the cheese and speck sausage pizzas is very easy and quick.
Start by unrolling the ready-made pizza dough, lightly salt it and, with a pizza cutter or a knife, cut out 6 rectangles.
Now wrap a slice of speck around each sausage until they are all covered.
Place each wrapped sausage on a rectangle of dough and roll it up until completely covered. Then seal the ends, removing any excess dough.Once you have six little sausage rolls, brush them with olive oil and roll them in the seeds; this step is optional, in fact you can leave them plain or replace the sesame seeds with sunflower seeds or whatever your imagination suggests.
Place the prepared sausage pizzas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated, static oven at 392°F for about 15 minutes. Be careful not to dry them out too much as they may open.Remove from the oven and enjoy your sausage pizzas hot, perhaps accompanied by ketchup or other dipping sauces.
VARIATIONS
You can replace speck with prosciutto crudo (cured ham).
If you cannot find cheese-filled sausages you can use classic sausages, wrap them with cheese slices and then with speck.
