Puff Pastry Ham Sticks

in

The PUFF PASTRY HAM STICKS are a quick and delicious finger food, perfect to serve with an aperitif or as a snack during the day. Attractive, tasty and crunchy, these sticks are truly the ideal solution for those who have little time but don’t want to give up personalizing their dishes and offering the best to their guests. Cream cheese, Parmesan and cooked ham will make a very appetizing filling that, combined with the puff pastry, will give life to these delectable bites. Don’t forget the sesame seeds, which will add an extra crunchy and fragrant note. As you’ll discover, they only take a few minutes to bake, and for this reason I recommend preparing the filling in advance, but assembling and baking them at the last moment to serve them still warm and full of aroma and crispness. And you’ll see how fast they’ll be gone…

  • Difficulty: Very easy
  • Cost: Very inexpensive
  • Preparation time: 5 Minutes
  • Cooking methods: Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 1 roll puff pastry (rectangular)
  • 2.5 oz cooked ham
  • 1.75 oz goat cheese (or another spreadable cheese)
  • 0.71 oz Parmesan
  • as needed black pepper
  • as needed milk
  • as needed sesame seeds

Steps

  • Place the cooked ham in a food processor and chop it finely. Transfer it to a bowl and add the goat cheese (or the spreadable cheese you prefer), the Parmesan, salt and pepper. Mix everything well and set aside.
Unroll the puff pastry and spread the filling over half of it.
Fold the free side of the pastry over the filled half and press down.

  • Cut into strips about 3/8 in (1 cm) thick and roll them up.
Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush with a little milk and press on the sesame seeds so they stick.
Bake the puff pastry ham sticks in a preheated convection oven at 374°F for 15 minutes.
When they are nicely golden, take them out of the oven and let them cool slightly.
