Ingredients to make the chocolate cookies
- 2 1/8 cups all-purpose flour (00)
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 5.3 oz dark chocolate (50%)
- to taste vanilla (or vanilla sugar)
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder (for sweets)
- to taste dark chocolate chips (For decoration)
- 2 tbsp chocolate chips
Tools
- Bowl
- Oven
- Baking sheet
Preparation
To make grandma’s chocolate cookies, start by chopping the chocolate. While continuing with the preparation, melt it in a double boiler or in the microwave (at 350W, stirring every 30 seconds to avoid burning). In a bowl, break the two eggs.
Add the sugar and whisk by hand.
Add the melted butter and melted chocolate and continue to combine.
Add the cocoa powder and the vanilla (I used a packet of vanilla sugar).
Also add the flour, taking care not to create lumps, the salt, the baking powder, and about 2 tbsp of chocolate chips.
The resulting dough will be difficult to work with, so cover it with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 40 minutes. Once the necessary time has passed, start preheating the oven. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper and form dough balls (about 1 9/16 inches in diameter). Cover them with chocolate chips and bake in a conventional oven at 347°F for 13-15 minutes.
Then remove from the oven and let cool before enjoying.
Storage
Store the chocolate cookies under a glass dome or in a cookie tin and consume within 4-5 days or before they become too dry.
