Fried Scamorza Skewers

Fried Scamorza Skewers are delicious bites ideal for an aperitif; you can accompany them with spicy tomato sauce or a squeeze of lemon for added freshness. The soft and gooey cheese center covered by a scrumptious Nachos coating is a revisited version of the classic fried mozzarella balls.

Ingredients

  • 14 oz smoked scamorza
  • 1.75 oz tortilla chips
  • 2 eggs
  • as needed peanut oil

How to Make Fried Scamorza Skewers

  • Start by skewering the small scamorzas onto the skewers.

  • At this point, take two large bowls; in the first, beat the eggs, in the second, roughly chop the chips. Dip the skewers first into the beaten eggs;

  • then, pass them through the bowl with the chips.

  • Finally, immerse the skewers in hot oil, drain them, and enjoy hot and gooey!

Skewer Storage

This type of preparation, like fried scamorza skewers, is best consumed immediately, so I advise against storing them in the fridge or freezing them.
