Medium-boiled eggs, halfway between a hard-boiled egg and a soft-boiled egg, are eggs with a runny yolk and a set white. How do you make a medium-boiled egg? As you may have already guessed, medium-boiled eggs have a medium cooking time and could be defined as hard-boiled eggs with a soft yolk, which you can peel like the former, but which enclose a very creamy yolk perfect for dipping a piece of bread.
Extremely easy to prepare, they can be served at breakfast, as a main course, or as an appetizer, and they fit perfectly into easy, quick and budget-friendly recipes you make every day. Want to try them too? Let’s go to the kitchen and discover together how many minutes are needed to make perfect medium-boiled eggs. Steps to make medium-boiled eggs
Medium-boiled eggs have a firm, well-cooked white and a soft yolk in the center, almost creamy, and are a middle ground between hard-boiled and soft-boiled eggs. To make medium-boiled eggs you can proceed in two ways:
– Place room-temperature eggs in a small pot with cold water, set over the heat and bring to a boil. Cook for 4 minutes, then drain immediately and stop the cooking with cold running water. If you use eggs straight from the fridge, extend the cooking time by 30 seconds.
– Immerse the eggs in boiling water and cook for 6 minutes. After six minutes, drain them, run them under cold water, roll them gently to crack the shell and peel, then enjoy.
I recommend enjoying soft-boiled eggs immediately and I do not recommend freezing them. To make them even tastier, sprinkle with black pepper and serve with toasted bread.
