Ingredients to make creamy orange and lemon chicken breast

  • 2.2 lb chicken breast
  • 2 oranges (juicy)
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 onion (medium)
  • to taste extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black peppercorns
  • 1/3 cup flour (about)
  • 1/2 glass water
  • 1/2 tbsp sugar (or a little more)

How to make creamy orange and lemon chicken breast

  • Cut the chicken breast into pieces — choose the size you prefer; you can also make strips by slicing the breast.

    Place the meat in a bowl, sprinkle with some pepper, add the flour and mix so it adheres to the pieces.

  • Chop the onion and sauté it in a large pan with a generous splash of olive oil.

    Add the chicken, season with salt and let it brown.

    Squeeze the citrus fruits to obtain the juice.

  • Dilute the juice with water and add a teaspoon of sugar if the mixture is too tart.

    Pour the liquid over the chicken and cook over low to medium heat for about 25 minutes.

    Turn off the heat when everything has reduced, leaving a thick little cream.

    Sprinkle with black pepper and grated citrus zest, plate and serve immediately.

    You can also prepare everything in advance and reheat when ready to serve: add a little water, stir and let it thicken again.
