Piadina chips are little triangles of piadina flavored with sweet paprika and aromatic herbs and then air-fried. You can use homemade piadine or store-bought ones. I had ready-made piadine at home and used those. If you want to make other tasty fried chips you can try:
- Difficulty: Very easy
- Cost: Very economical
- Preparation time: 10 Minutes

- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients to make piadina chips in the air fryer
- 1 piadina (Italian flatbread)
- 1 tsp sweet paprika
- to taste aromatic herbs (I used 2 tsp of a ready mix with thyme, sage and rosemary leaves)
- to taste salt
- 1 pinch ground turmeric
- 1 1/2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil ((1 ½ tbsp))
Tools
- Bowl
- Knife
- Cutting board
- Spoon
- Air fryer
Steps to make piadina chips in the air fryer
To make piadina chips in the air fryer, first take 1 piadina (Italian flatbread) and cut it vertically into strips. Then take each strip and cut it into small triangles. Put them in a bowl and pour in 1 ½ tbsp of extra virgin olive oil, 1 tsp of sweet paprika, 2 tsp of mixed aromatic herbs (I bought a mix of sage, rosemary and thyme leaves). Also add a pinch of salt and a pinch of turmeric powder and mix everything well with a spoon.
Place the piadina triangles in the basket of your air fryer and cook them for 7 minutes at 392 °F. Remember to open the basket every 2 minutes to stir them for even cooking.
Turn off the air fryer, remove the chips from the basket and serve them hot and crispy! You can add a good dipping sauce to accompany them.
Storage and tips
You can store the piadina chips for a couple of days in an airtight container.
If you want them a bit stronger in flavor you can also add hot paprika or pepper.
If you don’t like turmeric you can omit it.
For this recipe I used my Ariete brand air fryer. The model is Air Fryer Mini. I have tried it a few times and I find it works well. You can find it on Amazon by clicking here.
