Gnocchi preparation
To prepare gnocchi with butter and sage, start by placing a large pot filled with water on the heat and bring it to a boil. Salt the water, then add the gnocchi and cook them until they float to the surface (about 2 minutes from boiling).
Meanwhile, melt the butter in a frying pan and add the sage leaves, letting them release their flavor over low heat.
Drain the gnocchi with a slotted spoon and transfer them directly into the pan with the flavored butter. Toss gently for less than a minute, just long enough to coat them well.
Plate and serve immediately, very hot.
Tips
Once plated, you can finish the gnocchi with a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese, if you like, or with freshly ground black pepper. For an even more intense aroma, add a few sage leaves directly to the plate.
Gnocchi with butter and sage should always be served very hot to enjoy them at their best.
