Ingredients

  • 1 2/3 cups strawberries (about 8.8 oz)
  • 1 cup heavy cream (whipping cream) (about 8 fl oz / 250 ml)
  • 2-3 tbsp powdered sugar (to taste)
  • 2.1 oz ladyfingers (savoiardi) (about 6–7 pieces)
  • a few mint leaves (for garnish)

Steps

  • Wash the strawberries and cut them into pieces or thin slices. If desired, sprinkle one tablespoon of powdered sugar over the strawberries and let them rest for 15–20 minutes so they absorb the flavor and release their juice.

  • Place the cream and the powdered sugar in a chilled bowl and whip until firm peaks form.

  • Create a layer of cream at the bottom of each cup. Add the ladyfingers and a layer of strawberries. Continue with another layer of whipped cream over the strawberries.

  • Repeat the layers until the cups are filled, finishing with a layer of cream. Garnish with a few whole or chopped strawberries and a mint leaf.

  • Refrigerate the cream and strawberry cups with ladyfingers for at least 30 minutes before serving.
