Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 3 2/3 cups Type 0 flour (all-purpose flour)
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 4 tsp fresh yeast
- 3 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 1/3 tsp salt
Steps
In a bowl, work the flour with the yeast dissolved in the milk, the egg and the condensed milk until you obtain a homogeneous dough.
Also incorporate the butter and, only at the end, the salt. Make folds and put the dough to rise in a covered bowl until it doubles in volume (about 2 hours).
After this time, divide the dough into balls of about 3 oz each and let them rest for 10–15 minutes on the work surface (you will obtain about 10 pieces).
With the help of a rolling pin, roll out each dough ball on the work surface, giving them an oval shape. Then roll them up starting from the longer side, placing the seam on the bottom.
Once all the rolls are shaped, place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush lightly with beaten egg and let them rise for 35–40 minutes.
Transfer the baking sheet to a preheated static oven at 374°F and bake for about 15 minutes, until evenly golden.
Once baked and cooled, fill the condensed milk rolls with jams, preserves, spreadable creams or enjoy them plain.
Bon appétit and… see you in the next recipe!
