A huge hit in summer, we’re talking about clever popsicles on a stick with bananas and dark chocolate, super easy and quick: 16 ready in 5 minutes. Tasty and light. One serving has about the same calories as one apple. You don’t need an ice cream maker, just a hair dryer, which is actually the secret to their thin chocolate coating. Many of you asked how I keep them standing upright together (even in the freezer) while they dry. It’s very simple: I stick the wooden stick into a large zucchini (or a cucumber if you prefer), then I transfer the vegetable with all the popsicles into the freezer for perfect drying. Keep reading and I’ll explain how to make these delicious popsicles for your kids and for adults too.
A delicious snack that’s also light
They give the same feeling as a real popsicle on a stick, but in reality they’re just banana and dark chocolate. If you’re dieting, you can also choose greener bananas that have a lower carbohydrate and sugar content than ripe yellow ones. One tip? Make a lot of them: they’re perfect as a light, indulgent snack for adults, for children’s lunches and to serve with coffee for friends. I promise you’ll make a great impression.

Tools for popsicles on a stick
Preparation
To make the popsicles on a stick, first melt the dark chocolate in a bain-marie or in the microwave. If you prefer a chocolate that stays softer on the popsicles, simply add 2 teaspoons of this coconut oil into the already melted chocolate and then stir.)
Meanwhile, peel 4 bananas (green or yellow), cut each into 4 pieces to make about 16 roughly equal pieces.
Place a wooden stick in the center of each banana piece (like these)
Now take a stick and dip the banana piece into the well-melted chocolate, let the excess drip off, then continue with the rest in the same way.
Enjoy your popsicle!!!!
Storage
Banana popsicles on a stick keep in the freezer, well sealed in an airtight container.
How to let excess chocolate drip off from popsicles on a stick?
There’s a trick you can use to make the chocolate drip well from each popsicle. Right after dipping the popsicle in chocolate, hold it over a high-sided bowl with one hand, then use the other hand to turn on a hair dryer and direct warm air onto the upside-down popsicle; in an instant the excess chocolate will fall into the bowl and the popsicle will be left with a thin shell. You can then scoop the chocolate from the bowl with a silicone spatula, return it to the plate with the melted chocolate, and finish coating all the popsicles.
After coating the popsicles with chocolate, how do I make them stand upright while they dry?
Super easy: push about 3/8 inch of the stick into a large zucchini (or cucumber), then when finished transfer everything to the freezer. After about 20 minutes you can remove the popsicles from the vegetable and place them in an airtight container, keeping them stored in the freezer.
