Ingredients
- 12.3 oz potatoes
- 12.3 oz savoy cabbage (net weight)
- 4.2 oz scamorza cheese (or other semi-hard cheese)
- 1 onion (or half a leek)
- Grana Padano cheese, grated
- 2 leaves sage
- breadcrumbs
- extra virgin olive oil
- salt
- pepper
- vegetable broth (or water)

Preparation
Wash the potatoes, peel them and cut them into pieces.
Wash the cabbage, remove the central core, and cut it into julienne strips. Clean the onion and slice it into rings.
Put the potatoes in a large pan with a drizzle of oil and a pinch of salt. Sauté over high heat for 5 minutes (1).
Add the cabbage and onion (2), stir and season with salt. Moisten with half a ladle of vegetable broth (or water), cover and let cook for 15-20 minutes.
When the cabbage and potatoes are tender, transfer them to a baking dish, greased with oil or butter.
Add the diced scamorza cheese and chopped sage. Finally sprinkle with some Grana Padano, a little breadcrumbs, a light drizzle of oil, and a pinch of pepper (3).
Put everything in a fan oven at 375°F and bake for about 15 minutes, or until the surface is gratinated to your liking.
Your baked cabbage and potatoes dish is ready, serve it hot as a main course or a rich side dish.
Tips and Notes
You can replace the cabbage with white cabbage.
You can omit the sage or replace it with other herbs to your liking.
You can cook the cabbage and potatoes in advance, and bake them when needed.
