Ingredients for the preparation of spiced shortcrust
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 9 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 tsp cinnamon (or half cinnamon stick)
- 4 cloves

- 1 egg
- 1 egg yolk

Steps for the preparation of spiced shortcrust
In a chopper, pour the sugar and add the ground cloves and cinnamon (or the stick) and the orange zest.
Blend everything until you get a very aromatic powdered sugar (which can be used in all spiced dessert recipes, especially perfect during the Christmas period).
In a bowl, place the butter in small pieces. Add the sifted flour, the egg, the aromatic sugar, a pinch of salt, and work with your hands. Pour onto a work surface, add an egg yolk, and work again until obtaining a smooth and fragrant dough.
Wrap the shortcrust in plastic wrap and place it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before using it to prepare the recipes you like the most.

You can store the shortcrust in the fridge for a few days, and you can also freeze it in blocks for a month.
