LASAGNA IN AIR FRYER

in ,

Lasagna in the air fryer is a simple and tasty first course; thanks to cooking in the air fryer it will stay soft inside and develop a crispy crust on top. You can prepare meat-sauce lasagna in the air fryer ahead of time and then reheat it for a few minutes when serving, and you can also freeze portions if you want to make extra. To prepare lasagna in the air fryer you must use a baking pan that fits inside your air fryer’s basket — I have a medium-sized air fryer, but as there are various models and sizes you should pick the one that suits you. For this type of preparation I use disposable aluminum pans from the supermarket: they are practical and freezer-safe, so once I’ve prepared my lasagna in the air fryer I let it cool completely and then freeze it directly in the pan. Cooking time may vary depending on the type of air fryer you use (I use this air fryer HERE). I recommend browsing all the air fryer recipes, you’ll surely find other delicious dishes to try. Now let’s see how to make lasagna in the air fryer and if you try it let me know. Barbara

How to make lasagna in the air fryer

  • Let’s start preparing lasagna in the air fryer. First you should prepare the ragù, which needs a longer cooking time; I use my simple ragù recipe that everyone likes, but you can use your usual one.

  • Then prepare the béchamel; I used a very creamy béchamel that made the lasagna delicious. Put the butter in a saucepan and let it melt, then add the flour and mix well to obtain a paste. Place over the heat and, stirring constantly, cook the roux for a few minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and add the milk little by little, stirring to avoid lumps. Return the pan to the stove and cook until thickened, which will take about ten minutes.

  • Cut the mozzarella into small pieces and grate the cheese.

  • Now you can start assembling the lasagna: put a few tablespoons of béchamel on the bottom of the pan and spread it. Make a layer of lasagna sheets, add the ragù, béchamel, a few mozzarella cubes and grated cheese. Continue in this way until the lasagna is complete; on the top layer include ragù, béchamel, mozzarella and grated cheese.

  • Place the pan in the air fryer basket and cook for 20 minutes at 356°F, then set to 392°F and cook for 2 minutes to achieve a nice crispy crust.

  • When cooking is finished, remove the basket from the air fryer and take out the pan.
