Puff pastry savory pie with salami and artichokes

The puff pastry savory pie with salami and artichokes is a tasty idea to prepare for an aperitif with friends, or to serve at the table as an alternative main course.

With a few simple ingredients (which we often all have at home) I made a very tasty savory pie, which I cut into squares and served at the table. I used a sheet of puff pastry that I filled with tomato passata seasoned with olive oil, salt and oregano; then I added salami and sliced cheese, and artichokes preserved in oil. Just writing it makes me hungry again!

Puff pastry savory pie with salami and artichokes

Ingredients

  • 1 roll Puff pastry (rectangular)
  • 3 oz Sliced salami
  • 2 oz Artichokes in oil
  • 1 oz Sliced cheese
  • to taste Tomato passata
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste Oregano

Preparation

  • To make the savory puff pastry pie, pour a few tablespoons of tomato passata into a small bowl. Add salt and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. Add a sprinkle of oregano and mix with a spoon.

  • Drain the artichokes to remove excess oil, then chop them into pieces.

  • Open the sheet of puff pastry, leaving the included parchment paper, and on one half spread a few tablespoons of tomato passata and the slices of cheese. Then add the salami and the artichokes.

  • Fold the other half of the pastry over the filling and press the edges well with your hands to seal the dough.

  • Transfer to a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven (I use convection) at 392°F for 15 minutes, until golden.

  • Once cooked, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Cut into squares and serve. Enjoy!
