Moelleux with Strawberries — Soft, Very Easy Dessert

The moelleux with strawberries is a soft dessert and very easy to prepare, perfect when you have fresh strawberries and want to make a simple but very fragrant dessert. I love strawberries it is

a fruit I buy almost every time I find it at the supermarket and today at my favorite store, Esselunga, I found packages at great prices and, just because, I bought 3 so here is this delightful moelleux with strawberries, an absolutely easy dessert within anyone’s reach and very pleasant to the taste that I adapted here by slightly changing the quantities and the ingredients.

Unfortunately—and I say this half jokingly as they say—the moelleux batter is so soft that some of the halved STRAWBERRIES used for decoration inevitably sank, ruining the appearance, darn!!


This moelleux with strawberries is incredibly soft: a very pleasant batter, a fantastic surprise for me!!!

MOELLEUX WITH STRAWBERRIES

Ingredients RECIPE Moelleux with strawberries

  • 2/3 cup (≈4.8 oz) Sugar
  • 3/4 cup (≈3.5 oz) Flour
  • 3 tbsp (≈40 g / 1.4 oz) Potato starch
  • 4 Eggs
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil (I use corn)
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • as needed Strawberries
  • as needed Powdered sugar (optional)

Preparation RECIPE Moelleux with strawberries

  • Separate yolks and whites and begin whipping the whites with electric beaters.

    As they start to become fluffy, gradually add the sugar, until you obtain something like a meringue with long, soft peaks when the beaters are lifted.

  • In another bowl, mix the yolks with the tablespoons of vegetable oil and add in several additions the meringue mixture, always folding with the beaters.

    You will obtain a light and very fluffy batter. Dust with powdered sugar and … enjoy this triumph of lightness and goodness: the soft dessert moelleux with strawberries!!

  • Sift the flour, potato starch and baking powder.

    Combine the dry ingredients into the batter with a spatula using gentle folding motions from bottom to top.

  • Pour the batter into the buttered and floured pan of 8/9 in diameter. Wash and pat dry the STRAWBERRIES, then halve them and arrange them on the cake as you like.

  • Bake the moelleux with strawberries in a preheated oven at 356°F for about 40 minutes, or according to the characteristics of your appliance.

  • Let it cool, dust with powdered sugar and … enjoy this soft and delicious cake!
