Codfish Balls

Ingredients

  • 12 oz desalted cod
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 oz grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pinch salt
  • to taste garlic powder
  • to taste parsley
  • to taste breadcrumbs
  • to taste sunflower oil

Steps

  • Remove the skin from the pieces of desalted cod, cut into small pieces, and place them in a mixer jug to blend.

  • Transfer the mixture to a bowl and add the breadcrumbs, Parmesan, and egg.

  • Season with salt, garlic powder, and parsley.

  • Mix everything together.

  • Shape the mixture into balls and coat them in breadcrumbs.

  • Heat a pan with sunflower oil, and when it’s hot, immerse the balls for cooking.

  • Cook evenly until they form a golden crust.

Codfish balls are strategic for getting kids to eat fish, who might not like fish but generally love fried balls.
