Instant Pot Baked Apples

Instant Pot baked apples and how to cook fruit in the multicooker which, as I explained in this guide to instant pots, is the same thing. The recipe is very delicious, because I drew inspiration from the salted caramel apple recipe, and you will clearly also find the simple version of the baked apples in the multicooker. After suggesting the peach jam with instant pot, I thought that autumn fruit would be suitable for this time. You can enjoy the baked apples as they are, pure, or you can use them to make a apple tarte tatin. Or, you can blend them into a sort of apple butter and use it to make a cake.

To bake the apples in the instant pot, you have 2 options: bake them like in the oven, using the appropriate function, or use the pressure function, but in this case, they will be less colorful and caramelized.

Ingredients

  • 4 Gala apples
  • 3 oz brown sugar
  • Half lemon
  • 3 pinches ground cinnamon
  • 2 pinches salt

Tools Needed

  • 1 multicooker equipped with oven lid or air fryer
  • 1 Melon Baller for melon

How to Make Apples in the Multicooker

  • Wash and dry the apples well, cut them in half, and for a scenic effect, leave the stem attached. With the help of the melon baller, remove the core and set the apples aside.

Turn on the pot using the baking or sauté function at 356°F, add the sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Let the sugar melt and then place the apples with the flesh facing down. Let the apples simmer for 2 minutes so the watery part evaporates.

  • Close the instant pot with the oven lid or air fryer. Set the bottom part to 392°F and the top part to 320°F and bake the apples for 10 minutes.

  • After placing the apples on the caramel, close the instant pot with its lid and start cooking for 6 minutes using the pressure function. At the end of cooking, depressurize the pot, remove the lid, and start at 392°F until the liquid part evaporates.
