- 1 sheet puff pastry (rectangular)
- 2 hot dogs (large)
- 12 peppercorns pepper
- to taste ketchup
Tools
- 1 Baking sheet
- 1 Knife
- 1 Teaspoon
Preparing the hot dog spiders
1 – Unroll the puff pastry and divide it into six equal parts. On each portion spread a teaspoon of ketchup and place a piece of hot dog in the center of the rectangle.
2 – Wrap the hot dog in the puff pastry to create a candy-like shape.
3 – Using a sharp knife or another blade, cut the ends into three sections to create the little legs.
4 – Twist each leg section around itself.
5 – Place the spiders on the baking sheet, trying to shape the body and arrange the legs as shown in the photo.
6 – Once ready, bake in a preheated oven at 356°F, conventional (no fan), until golden. When cooled, make the eyes by adding a drop of ketchup and a peppercorn.
NOTES
Ketchup can be replaced with tomato purée or another sauce.
You can use smaller hot dogs; in that case you will need to divide the puff pastry into smaller portions.
I recommend enjoying them immediately.
