Strawberry, Arugula and Cheese Salad

in

The strawberry, arugula and cheese salad is a tasty spring salad, an easy and quick side dish to prepare.

Fruit salads are fresh, light dishes and are often surprisingly well balanced. The basic idea is to combine typical salad ingredients, such as leafy greens, vegetables or light proteins, with fruity elements that add sweetness, acidity and a more complex aromatic component. The result is not only a question of taste but also of textures and colors, because fruit introduces juiciness and visual liveliness that make the dish more inviting. This type of preparation is widespread in many cuisines: you choose fruit that has some acidity or crunch, like apples, citrus or berries, because they contrast the more bitter parts of the greens, or sweeter, softer fruit to create a stronger contrast, especially when paired with ingredients like cheeses or mild cured meats, while keeping an overall balance so no element overpowers the others. From a nutritional point of view, combining vegetables and fruit increases the intake of vitamins, fiber and antioxidants, making the dish not only enjoyable but also beneficial for a balanced diet. Finally, fruit salads vary according to seasonality, availability and freshness of the ingredients.

The strawberry, arugula and cheese salad combines the peppery bite of arugula, the sweetness of strawberries and the delicacy of the cheese, with a touch of balsamic vinegar, creating a fresh, fragrant and visually appealing dish, perfect for example for a dinner with friends.
