Rolled Pizza – Sourdough

Rolled pizza is a delicious pizza that everyone will like.

I’m not in the mood today 🙁

The collapse of the Genoa bridge shocked me greatly.

It might also be because I’m Ligurian and very attached to my land.

There are no words for what happened, and I don’t want to make a fuss, but in this tragic moment of grief, I pray for the victims and survivors so that such incidents don’t happen again.

Excuse this outburst and changing the subject, the appetite isn’t great either because the heat is back.

However, I craved pizza, but a tastier one than usual.

Since I had some prosciutto, olives, and mozzarella, I got to work immediately.

I made a pizza, which I then rolled up.

It’s a different way to serve pizza.

Make it even if you have children, because they will like it a lot 🙂

Ingredients for Rolled Pizza

  • 2 cups cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 oz oz sourdough starter (or 6 g fresh yeast or 3 g dry yeast)
  • 1/2 cup cup Water
  • teaspoons Salt
  • 3.5 oz oz Prosciutto
  • 3.5 oz oz pitted olives
  • 1 Mozzarella
  • to taste Oregano

Tools

  • Small pot
  • Stand mixer
  • Plastic wrap
  • Oven tray
  • Parchment paper
  • Rolling pin

Preparation of Rolled Pizza

  • Pour the flour and sourdough starter on the table.

    In a small pot, warm the water for a few seconds, in which the salt has been dissolved.

    Pour the salted water over the flour and sourdough starter.

    Knead the dough by hand or with a mixer.

    Shape the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place.

    Line an oven tray with parchment paper.

    Take the dough and roll it out into a thin sheet forming a rectangle.

    Sprinkle oregano to taste, add slices of prosciutto, chopped mozzarella, and olives.

  • Roll the rectangle onto itself from the longer side.

  • Let the rolled pizza rise for about 3 hours in a warm place.

  • Preheat the oven to 392°F (200°C) in static mode and bake the rolled pizza for about 30 minutes.
