Here are some other Christmas-themed snacks, also very simple and quick to make
- Difficulty: Very Easy
- Cost: Economical
- Preparation time: 5 Minutes
- Portions: 8 pieces
- Cooking methods: Oven
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: Christmas
Ingredients for the puff pastry star
- 1 roll puff pastry (round)
- 1.8 oz grated Parmesan cheese
- 8 green olives (pitted – to be halved)
- 4 cherry tomatoes (to be halved)
- 3 tbsps tomato sauce
- to taste dried oregano
Tools
- 1 Spoon
- 1 Knife
- 1 Baking Tray oven
Preparation of the puff pastry star
Take the cherry tomatoes, wash them, dry them, and cut them in half. Also, take the olives, drain them from the preserving liquid, and cut them in half as well. Set aside.
Unroll the puff pastry and use a sharp knife to make 8 cuts as shown in photograph 1. They should not reach the center, but it will be enough to make them 1-1.5 inches long. Now spread the tomato sauce, grated Parmesan, and oregano over the surface (2).
Now fold the two ends of the cuts inward to create a point (3). You will end up with 8 points, where you will place half a cherry tomato and half an olive, as seen in the last photo (4). However, you can decorate it as you like. Now bake it at 392°F in a static oven for 20-30 minutes.
Notes
Instead of green olives, we can use pitted black olives.
Instead of Parmesan, we can use pizza mozzarella (the block style).
You can decorate the puff pastry pizza star as you like.
It keeps for a couple of days in the refrigerator.
