Sautéed spinach, a delicious and quick side dish to make with either fresh or frozen spinach, without boiling beforehand, and without needing to add water. I love spinach and prepare it often, great as a light side dish or as a main course enriched with mozzarella, eggs, ricotta, also for delicious fillings for cannelloni, crepes, or conchiglioni. For frozen spinach, the preparation is really simple, just put the frozen spinach in a pan with a lid and cook on low heat. For fresh ones, we just need to wash and drain them well, then the cooking is the same, only much faster, because spinach, rich in vitamins and iron, cooks very quickly since they are made up of very tender and delicate leaves. Let’s see how to prepare sautéed spinach. Remember, never boil the spinach, and they can also be cooked without adding water.

Steps to Prepare Sautéed Spinach
Wash the fresh spinach, even if they are pre-washed in a bag, and drain well. If frozen, they obviously do not need to be washed.
Put the spinach in a pan, on low heat with a pinch of salt, cover and cook.
Stir after a couple of minutes for fresh ones, if frozen, even after 5 minutes.
Fresh ones will be ready in about 5 minutes, raise the heat to completely dry the water at the bottom of the pan, without the lid.
Frozen ones will be ready in about 15 minutes or a little more.
At the end of cooking, add a bit of butter for seasoning and flavoring, but if you prefer, olive oil is also fine. They can be enriched with parmesan, mozzarella, eggs, ricotta, to be added directly to the pan.
Our sautéed spinach is now ready to be enjoyed.
