Pastry Puffs with Nutella and Jam

Today I’m sharing this new recipe with you, pastry puffs with Nutella and jam. They are sweet treats made with a crumbly shortcrust pastry that’s super quick to prepare. The name I’ve given to this dessert, ‘pasticciotto’, signifies that it’s a blend of flavors filled with something; in this case, Nutella and jam, but you know very well that the original from Lecce is filled with cream and cherries. This version with Nutella and jam is truly irresistible on the palate and will delight both adults and children. Perfect for organizing a snack with friends or for a Sunday sweet treat.

Steps for Pastry Puffs with Nutella and Jam

  • Preparing the pastry puffs with Nutella and jam is really quite simple.

Take a bowl, add an egg, sugar, butter at room temperature, a pinch of salt, the vanilla sachet, and finally all the flour.

Mix the mixture with your hands or with a mixer for five minutes.

You need to get a nice compact mixture. Cover the bowl with cling film and let the dough rest for 30 minutes in the fridge.

  • Take the muffin tin and butter it well. You can use rigid aluminum molds in the shape of a flower, heart, or the shape of the ‘pasticciotto’.

From the mixture, take a ball of dough and fill each mold, trying to raise the entire edge. Fill with Nutella and jam.

Take the dough, roll it out with a rolling pin, and cut out small circles with a small pastry cutter, covering all the pastry puffs. Seal the edges well by pressing with a fork.

Bake the pastry puffs in a preheated oven for 25/30 minutes at 356°F fan setting.

Once ready, let them cool for a few minutes.
