I needed a quick and tasty recipe — thus the Parigina Rustic with Mortadella in 5 minutes was born, a white, quick-to-make savory pie, ideal for snacking while battling dragons and orcs. It’s a white parigina rustic, without tomato, with lots of melty mortadella, ready in a flash and perfect as an appetizer idea.

PARIGINA RUSTIC with MORTADELLA

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 3.5 oz mortadella
  • 5.3 oz provolone
  • 2 slices sandwich bread

Steps

  • Place the puff pastry on the work surface and fill only half with sandwich bread slices, pancarrè works well too.

  • Add the mortadella slices and provolone slices.

  • Fold with the other half of the puff pastry, seal the edges a bit, poke with a fork and bake in the oven at 350°F for about twenty minutes.

  • For air fryer cooking, cut the rustic in half to fit the basket, cook at 350°F for 8 minutes then flip and cook for another 5-6 minutes.
