Nutritionally, red mullet is rich in omega-3 fats and minerals such as phosphorus and iron.
The recipe for baked red mullets is simple, but if you want a more Mediterranean version, add a few halved cherry tomatoes or black olives.
Still on the theme of FISH RECIPES, here are some more suggestions just below:

- Difficulty: Very easy
- Cost: Economical
- Preparation time: 5 Minutes
- Portions: 2 People
- Cooking methods: Other
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: All seasons
Ingredients
- 10.6 oz red mullets (fillets already cleaned)
- 1 lemon (untreated)
- 2 sprigs thyme (or oregano)
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- to taste salt
- to taste pepper
Tools
- Parchment paper
- Aluminum foil
For this fish main course
Cut two rectangles from the parchment paper roll, large enough to hold the red mullet fillets, already cleaned of their entrails.
Place the red mullet fillets in the center of each sheet, skin side down.
Season the contents of each packet with a thin slice of lemon, a few thyme or oregano leaves, a drizzle of oil, salt, and pepper.
Fold the parchment paper, sealing the edges well to prevent steam from escaping during the cooking of the mullets.
Personally, I wrap everything again in aluminum foil, but make sure it does not touch the food!
Put the packets in a preheated oven at 356°F (static mode) for about 10-12 minutes.
Place the packet with the red mullets directly on each diner’s plate for a scenic and fragrant effect!
When we open the packet, a penetrating scent of fish, lemon, and thyme will pleasantly envelop us … enjoy your meal and happy cooking!
