Ingredients for Cuttlefish in Tomato Sauce

  • 10.5 oz cuttlefish (if frozen, the weight refers to defrosted or fresh)
  • 1 cup tomato passata
  • 2 cloves red garlic
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 pinch salt

Preparation of Cuttlefish in Tomato Sauce

  • Start with the cuttlefish, if they are frozen let them defrost, once defrosted (or if fresh) rinse them under running water and pat them dry with paper towels, set aside,

  • In a pot, fry the garlic with the oil, when the garlic is golden, pour in the tomato passata, salt, and stir.

  • Then add the cuttlefish, cover and cook for 20 minutes (medium-sized cuttlefish) over medium heat, stirring occasionally, if the sauce dries too much add a few tablespoons of water and finish cooking.

  • Before serving, adjust salt if necessary and garnish with fresh chopped parsley if you like, enjoy your meal!
