Watermelon drink, fresh, refreshing and very quick to prepare… a delicious non-alcoholic cocktail, perfect for summer, with no added sugars. All you need is a blender and a pitcher to store the drink in the refrigerator and enjoy it at any time of the day. I only added some lemon juice and a little water to make it less dense, but the drink is also great as a base for creating alcoholic cocktails, to be served as an aperitif on Ferragosto. Here is the recipe, it’s very easy and quick!

Ingredients
- 1.32 lbs watermelon (flesh, seedless and skinless)
- water
- lemon juice (or lime juice)
- ice
- 4 leaves mint (to taste)
Tools
- Blender
- Pitcher
- Citrus Juicer
Preparation
Clean the watermelon by removing the rind and all the seeds until you have about 1.32 lbs of flesh.
Cut it into chunks and place it in the blender. Add the freshly squeezed juice of one lemon (or lime if you prefer) and about half a glass of water.
Blend until you obtain a liquid and homogeneous puree. If you prefer a less dense juice, pour in a little more water.
Pour the watermelon drink into a pitcher, add ice cubes and a few slices of lemon.
Finally, put it in the refrigerator to cool.
When serving, pour the watermelon drink into glasses and decorate with some mint leaves as desired.
Tips and Variations
If you want to make an alcoholic cocktail, simply add gin, vodka, or prosecco to the drink.
Adjust the amount of water according to the desired density.
You can use ice cubes or crushed ice.
If your watermelon is sweet and ripe, no need to add sugar.
If you don’t have a blender, you can use an immersion mixer.
