What better season to prepare quince jam than this one?? A few days ago my husband brought me some of these apples, and after just 1 hour my house was filled with their aroma. What a delight. But since there were too many, I decided to make a delicious jam with the ripest ones. I used the thermomix, but a pot works too. You might also be interested.

  • Difficulty: Very Easy
  • Cost: Very Cheap
  • Rest time: 5 Days
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 1
  • Cooking methods: Stovetop
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: Autumn, Winter

Ingredients

  • 2.2 lbs quinces
  • 1.06 cups water
  • 2 tbsps lemon juice
  • 2 cups sugar

Tools

  • Jars glass
  • Saucepan
  • Ladle
  • Immersion Blender

Steps

  • Wash the quinces thoroughly so that their fuzz comes off. Cut them into chunks. Leave the peel on most of the apples.

  • Pour them into the thermomix jug and add the water. If using a saucepan, proceed the same way.

  • Add the lemon juice.

  • And finally the sugar.

  • Place the Varoma container (without lid) instead of the measuring cup, and cook for 40 min/212°F/speed 1. Meanwhile, sanitize 3 jars with screw caps of 17.6 oz. In the saucepan, cook for the same time covered with a lid over medium heat. Stir occasionally. Blend everything for about 1 minute at speed 5. In the saucepan, you can use the immersion blender.

  • Immediately transfer the jam to the sanitized jars. Seal tightly with the lid and let cool upside down, so that a vacuum is created.

  • Wait about a week before enjoying.
