Oven-baked crispy chicken was created as a recipe after I discovered I was diabetic. Ingredients for Oven-Baked Crispy Chicken

  • 14 oz chicken breast (sliced)
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 tsp fine salt
  • 1/4 tsp sweet paprika (powder)
  • 5 leaves basil (fresh)
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest (grated)

Preparation of Paprika Crispy Chicken

  • Cut the chicken breast into strips (or use pre-sliced strips), and place them in a bowl.

  • Add the breadcrumbs, paprika, salt, and broken basil leaves to the bowl, and mix well using two spoons to coat all the chicken thoroughly.

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper; place the chicken strips on top, spreading them out well, and pour over the oil provided in the recipe.

  • Preheat the oven to 482°F, and when it’s at temperature, bake for 2025 minutes (the chicken should be golden brown at the end of cooking), turning the strips halfway through. Once cooked, remove the crispy chicken from the oven, sprinkle with grated lemon zest, and serve. You’ll taste the goodness!

  • Can I use turkey breast instead of chicken breast?

    Yes, using turkey breast is perfectly fine, just have it cut not too thin.
