SAVORY CRUMBLE HAM and PROVOLONE, easy and quick main dish, perfect for dinner, a tasty idea to make in a few minutes without a mixer, with dough without butter, eggs, and yeast.
The savory crumble with ham and provolone saved my night the other evening when I had to quickly prepare dinner for friends without going crazy in the kitchen. I wanted something delicious, ready in a few minutes, and without having to use yeast, eggs, or butter… and voilà, this wonder was born!
The idea is simple: a crumbled dough that melts in your mouth, enclosing a gooey heart of ham and provolone, turning into a super tasty main dish. Perfect both hot and at room temperature, ideal for an impromptu dinner or a takeaway lunch. My friends loved this savory crumble, and I solved the problem of “what do I prepare tonight?”
This crumble is also perfect if you’re looking for a quick alternative to the classic savory pie. It takes little effort, a few ingredients, and it’s done. I made it while chatting with the guests, and no one even imagined how easy it was!

Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups flour (the one you usually use)
- 6.5 oz extra virgin olive oil
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/4 cup water (or 1 egg)
- 5.3 oz cooked ham
- 5.3 oz provolone cheese
Steps
In a bowl, mix the flour with the salt, add the oil and water, mixing until you get a crumbly mixture. It’s not necessary to knead it like traditional pastry.
Take a 9.5-inch diameter pan. Pour half of the crumbled dough, pressing lightly to compact it.
Evenly distribute the cooked ham and cubed provolone cheese on top of the dough.
Complete with the other half of the dough, crumbling it over the filling.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 30-35 minutes, or until the surface is golden and crispy, or in an air fryer at 347°F for 25 minutes.
Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. The savory crumble is excellent both warm and at room temperature.
