Air Fryer Puff Pastry Baskets

The air fryer puff pastry baskets are perfect to serve as an appetizer or dessert, because the combination of cheese and red fruits makes them suitable for all occasions. Like the air fryer puff pastries or the air fryer apple pastries, their shape makes them elegant and perfect to impress with little effort. Puff pastry is so versatile that it fits various shapes and, depending on the occasion, you can decide whether to serve it as finger food or bake it whole and slice it, like this savory puff pastry in air fryer. Based on the season, you can get creative with the fillings, for example, make a puff pastry with zucchini in the air fryer. To make these puff pastry baskets filled with cheese and red fruits, I used a flower-shaped cookie cutter and cooked the baskets in aluminum molds. As I explain in my Air Fryer Book, they are perfect and also suitable for making zucchini flans in the air fryer. In the list of tools, you’ll find the link to see them.

Ingredients for the filled baskets

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (rectangular)
  • 2 slices brie
  • 2 slices prosciutto
  • 12 raspberries
  • 20 blueberries
  • vegetable oil (for brushing the molds)

What you need

  • 1 Air Fryer
  • 8 Muffin Molds aluminum
  • 1 Cookie Cutter 4 inches wide flower shape

Procedure

  • Brush the molds with a little oil and set aside. Cut the brie into 8 pieces and do the same with the prosciutto. Wash, drain well, and pat dry the red fruits. Unroll the puff pastry and, using the cookie cutter, cut out 8 pieces.

  • Line the molds with the puff pastry flowers, making them adhere well. Fill the bottom with a piece of prosciutto, a piece of brie, and place some blueberries or raspberries on top.

  • Place the puff pastry baskets in the air fryer and cook for 18 minutes at 356°F, taking care to check the cooking, and if they brown too much on the surface, lower the temperature to 320°F-338°F. At the end of cooking, remove the molds from the air fryer and, using a small knife or spatula, remove the puff pastry baskets from the molds. Arrange them on a serving plate and serve.
