Microwave asparagus: here’s the recipe for steaming in the microwave with many variations, including making gratin asparagus in the microwave. After trying the microwave asparagus omelet, I wanted to try whole asparagus cooked in the microwave. Like the microwave zucchine scapece, the microwave cauliflower, and the microwave pumpkin, even the whole microwave asparagus brings out the best in them. They maintain their bright green color, vitamins, and all their flavor while remaining firm and fleshy. In this recipe, I will also explain which accessories are needed to cook and gratin these vegetables in the microwave.

Ingredients
- 9 oz asparagus
- 0.4 cups water
- 2 pinches salt

- 1 tablespoon hazelnut crumbs
What you need
- 1 Baking dish in Pyrex

- 1 Microwave dish heating
- 1 Microwave rack
How to cook asparagus in the microwave
Wash and trim the asparagus, removing the toughest and woody part of the stalk.
1) Arrange the asparagus in the baking dish, pour in the water, and salt. Seal the dish with a sheet of plastic wrap. Insert the dish in the microwave and start the cooking for 8 minutes at 800 watts. You will see the plastic wrap inflate. At the end of cooking, let the closed dish rest for 10 minutes. The wrap will be sucked in (depressurized) and the asparagus will finish cooking. This same procedure is applied to make microwave pasteurized onions.
2) Arrange the asparagus in the baking dish, add water and salt and cook the asparagus for 12 minutes at 800 watts.
3) Place the asparagus in the container trays, pour water at the bottom, and salt. Close the container, open the valve and cook in the microwave for 10 minutes at 800 watts. At the end of cooking, close the valve and let it rest for 5 minutes.
Wrap 2 pre-cooked asparagus at a time with 2 slices of bacon, place them in the baking dish, and proceed until all the ingredients are used. Sprinkle the asparagus with hazelnut crumbs. Insert the rack in the microwave and place the heating dish on top. Grill the asparagus for 6 minutes with the combined microwave + grill function, setting it to maximum power.
