Ingredients for Basil Flatbreads Cooked in a Pan
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup water
- 1 1/2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 6 leaves basil (freshly chopped)
- 1 tsp instant yeast for savory preparations
Preparation
In a bowl, pour the flour, salt, and sifted yeast, mix quickly.
Then add the chopped basil, water, and oil, start mixing with a spoon and when the mixture becomes more compact, transfer it to a floured board.
Work the dough on the board for at least 10 minutes, in the end, you should obtain a smooth and lump-free dough.
Divide the dough into 8 equal weight parts, shape each piece of dough into a ball, flatten each ball slightly.
Put a non-stick pan on the stove, turn to high heat and when the pan is hot, cook the basil flatbreads for 10 minutes, turning them from time to time; they should end up crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
When all the basil flatbreads are cooked, you can serve them; they are delicious both hot and cold, you can either stuff them or eat them plain! Enjoy your meal!
