Ingredients for Basil Flatbreads Cooked in a Pan
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup water
- 1 1/2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 6 leaves basil (freshly chopped)
- 1 tsp instant yeast for savory preparations
Preparation
In a bowl, pour the flour, salt, and sifted yeast, mix quickly.
Then add the chopped basil, water, and oil, start mixing with a spoon, and when the mixture becomes more compact, transfer it to a floured work surface.
Knead the dough on the work surface for at least 10 minutes, at the end you should obtain a smooth, lump-free dough ball.
Divide the dough into 8 equal parts, shape each piece into a ball, and flatten each ball slightly.
Place a non-stick pan on the stovetop, turn the heat to high, and when the pan is hot, cook the basil flatbreads for 10 minutes, turning them occasionally; they should be crispy on the outside and soft on the inside at the end of cooking.
When all the basil flatbreads are cooked, you can serve them, delicious both hot and cold; you can stuff them or enjoy them plain! Enjoy your meal!
