The breaded mozzarella bites in the air fryer I am proposing today are an irresistible snack: crunchy on the outside, melty on the inside, and ready in just a few minutes without turning on the oven or frying in a pan!
I decided to make them with a special breading made with cornflakes, a pinch of paprika and a pinch of garlic powder, which add a flavorful and intriguing note that pairs perfectly with mozzarella.
They are ideal to serve as a tasty appetizer, in buffets, or even for a quick and different dinner.
And the nice thing is that it takes only a few ingredients and a bit of patience to bread them well… but the result is worth every second!
You can serve them with classic ketchup or barbecue sauce, but also with a light yogurt sauce.
They can be prepared in advance and heated in a few minutes, keeping their crunchiness even the next day.
A TIP… try them also with smoked mozzarella for a stronger flavor!

- 7 oz cherry-sized mozzarella balls (already drained)
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1.8 oz cornflakes (unsweetened and crumbled)
- 1 pinch sweet paprika
- 1 pinch garlic powder
- to taste salt

- to taste chopped parsley

Let’s prepare this tasty and crunchy snack together
First, the mozzarella balls should be thoroughly dried with kitchen paper and placed in the freezer for 15/20 minutes: this way they firm up and won’t release liquid during cooking.
Now I arrange 3 small bowls on the work surface:
• one with the flour
• one with the beaten egg, salt, and pepper
• one with the crumbled cornflakes, paprika, garlic powder, and chopped parsley.Now I pass each nugget first in the flour, then in the egg, and finally in the cornflake breading. I try to press everything well to make the breading adhere.
Then I place the mozzarella balls on parchment paper, spray with a little oil spray, and cook in the air fryer at 392°F (200°C) for 7/8 minutes or until golden brown.
The breaded mozzarella bites in the air fryer are super tasty and…. one leads to another just like cherries!
