The gluten-free orange cookies are simple and quick to prepare. They are made with few ingredients and are perfect for starting the day with the right energy.

To make them even more delicious, I added chocolate chips to the dough, but you can skip them if you prefer.

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 2.1 oz sugar
  • 2 tbsp orange juice
  • 0.25 cup sunflower oil
  • 1 orange zest (untreated)
  • 0.25 cup gluten-free potato starch
  • 1 cup rice flour
  • 1 teaspoon gluten-free baking powder
  • 0.25 cup gluten-free dark chocolate chips
  • 0.25 cup rice flour
  • as needed milk (for brushing)
  • as needed gluten-free powdered sugar (for finishing)

How to Prepare Quick Gluten-Free Orange Cookies

  • In a bowl, add the egg and sugar. Mix with a spoon.

  • Add the oil, orange juice, and the grated zest of an untreated orange. Mix with the spoon.

  • Add the potato starch and rice flour. Mix with the spoon.

  • When the dough starts to come together, add the baking powder, chocolate chips, and an additional 0.25 cup of rice flour.

  • Continue kneading by hand until you get a compact and homogeneous dough.

  • Take small portions of dough and form them into balls with your hands. I made 20 cookies, but the number depends on the size.

  • Place the cookies on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and brush the surface with milk.

  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

  • Bake in a preheated static oven at 356°F (180°C) and cook for about 15-20 minutes. Make sure to check the cooking times based on your oven.

  • Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and enjoy.
