How to Prepare the Two-Tone Cake with Cocoa and Nutella

  • In a bowl, add the eggs and sugar. Mix with the electric mixer until you get a fluffy and frothy mixture.

  • Add the oil, water, and yogurt. Mix with the electric mixer.

  • Add the flour and baking powder. Mix well, taking care not to create lumps.

  • Divide the mixture into two equal parts. Add the unsweetened cocoa powder to one part. Mix with a spatula.

  • Add the chocolate chips to the light batter and mix with the spatula. Then add two more tablespoons of flour and mix again with the spatula.

  • Pour the cocoa batter into a 9.5-inch cake ring mold that has been greased and floured previously. My mold doesn’t need greasing or flouring. If you want to take a look, you’ll find it in the Tools section above.

  • Also add the light batter but set a little aside.

  • On the surface of the cake, add small dollops of Nutella using two teaspoons. Cover the Nutella with the light batter set aside.

  • If desired, decorate with more chocolate chips.

  • Bake in a hot, static oven at 355°F and let it cook for about 30/35 minutes. Please verify the cooking time based on your oven by doing the toothpick test.

  • Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and serve.
