The puff pastry cake with mascarpone and chocolate is a simple and quick dessert to prepare. The puff pastry shell encloses a delicious filling that will win you over at the first taste. It’s a perfect dessert for breakfast, snack, or as a dessert at the end of a meal.

The puff pastry cake is made by placing a ready-made roll of puff pastry inside a pie dish. For the filling, just mix all the ingredients in a bowl to get a homogeneous cream. Ready to go in the oven.

Ingredients

For the base

  • 1 roll puff pastry (round)
  • 8.8 oz mascarpone
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 pear (ripe, diced)
  • to taste dark chocolate
  • 1 egg

How to Prepare Puff Pastry Cake with Mascarpone and Chocolate

  • Place a roll of puff pastry (with its parchment paper) inside a 10-inch diameter tart pan. Prick the bottom of the pastry with a fork.

  • In a large bowl, mix with a spoon the mascarpone, sugar, pear, and chocolate.

  • Also add the egg and mix with the spoon.

  • Pour the mascarpone cream into the pan and level it with a spatula or the back of a spoon.

  • Fold the edges of the pastry inwards and bake in a hot oven, static at 356°F for about 30/35 minutes or until the desired golden brown.

  • Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and before serving, dust with powdered sugar.
