Creamy Coffee Chicken Breast, a delightful recipe to try even for those who are not coffee lovers. A dish with a delicate flavor, creamy, very simple to prepare, and also very quick. Suitable (like all my recipes) even for the less experienced in the kitchen, but no less beautiful to present or less tasty. In this instance, I wanted to use yogurt because it’s lighter than fresh cream, but I leave you the choice, although I encourage you to try it as described. Chicken is a food that is rarely disliked and, having a delicate flavor, it lends itself to many recipes. I will therefore try to propose as many as possible. A tip I want to leave you is to have it sliced rather thickly, as you risk it drying out too much and becoming tough.

Ingredients

  • 0.77 lbs chicken breast slices, already cleaned
  • as needed flour
  • 2 tbsps extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 full cup of coffee
  • 0.5 cups plain whole yogurt
  • 10 shelled hazelnuts

Preparation

After removing the chicken breast from the refrigerator (or the slices already prepared by your trusted butcher), bring it to room temperature (it will take about an hour) and pat it dry with absorbent paper to remove any moisture residue. After cleaning it, slice it, ensuring they are thick. Finally, prepare it for cooking by dredging it in flour.

Put two generous tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil inside a non-stick pan and thoroughly brown the chicken breast slices until a crust forms (Maillard reaction). Always maintain a high flame to prevent the liquids from the meat from seeping out. At this point, add a large cup of coffee made with the moka, so it is lighter than espresso.

Add the coarsely chopped hazelnuts and let it reduce slightly. Then add the yogurt and adjust salt and pepper to taste. Continue cooking for only a few minutes, still at high heat.

Place the slices on a serving dish and drizzle with the cooking sauce. If the sauce has reduced too much, simply pour a little boiling water into the pan and mix.

Serve our Creamy Coffee Chicken Breast immediately, extremely hot, and decorate with some whole hazelnuts.

Tips

The chicken breast can be kept in the refrigerator for no more than three days, but inside an airtight container, preferably glass or ceramic.

We can also freeze it in portions, but always remember to defrost in the refrigerator and never at room temperature.

To reheat it, the microwave will work just fine.
