The chocolate nests are indulgent and easy to make — a perfect idea for Easter celebrations. The nests require only three ingredients, need no baking, and bring cheer to our tables. You can make them with the little ones; I’m sure they’ll have a blast! They’re also lovely as gifts: just wrap them in clear cellophane and tie with colorful ribbons. The chocolate I used to make the nests is dark chocolate, but milk chocolate is fine too. Now let’s see how to prepare them!

- 8 oz dark chocolate (You can also use milk chocolate)
- 2.5 oz hazelnuts
- 2.5 oz almonds
- 30 mini chocolate eggs (colored)
Tools
- 1 Bowl
- 1 Spatula
- 2 Spoons
- 10 Cupcake liners
- 1 Muffin pan
- 1 Microwave oven
Steps — Chocolate Nests
Makes about 10
Break the chocolate into pieces in a bowl and melt it in the microwave or over a bain-marie. When the chocolate has melted, add the hazelnuts — preferably toasted and coarsely chopped. Also add the almonds whole, or coarsely chop them if you prefer.
Mix the ingredients well, then prepare a muffin tin with paper liners and pour in the chocolate and nut mixture. Using two spoons, create a small cavity in the center of each nest.
Wait a few minutes and place the colored eggs in the center. Let the chocolate nests set. It will take about 2–3 hours at room temperature, but to shorten the resting time you can put them in the fridge for 30–40 minutes. Remove them from the liners only when they are completely set… Enjoy your treat!

Storage and variations of chocolate nests
Chocolate nests can be stored under a glass dome for up to a week. They can be prepared using any type of chocolate, but white chocolate needs more time to set. Be careful not to pour too much chocolate into each liner, otherwise the nests will be too tall. If you prefer, you can replace the nuts with cereals — puffed rice works perfectly as well.
